Great news, i just received the above scanned picture of a customer letter from one of Mobilink Infinity’s Sales Executive today!
I am glad to tell you guys that Mobilink Infinity is in the race now, although Mobilink Infinity is a new comer in the WiMAX environment – Rumor has it that Mobilink Infinity’s WiMAX service already got 3,000 consumers in just 3 days!
Hard to believe, but since knowing many people were waiting for Mobilink Infinity’s arrival in the WiMAX industry it is quite surely a possibility.
I am posting another Scanned Picture below that i got from Mobilink’s Sales Executive along with the above posted – This one shows Mobilink Infinity Tariff Packages PLUS Bonus Special Offers!
I have also confirmed that Mobilink and LinkDotNet are not the same but different.
Mobilink Infinity’s back-end will be used by Alcatel Lucent and CPE’s will be provided by Zyxel.
Mobilink is offering 30 days 100% Refund.
Mobilink is also offering Dynamic IP address’s and not offering static IP address’s right now.
Well i just hope they really are offering “Real IP addresses” to each user unlike Wateen WiMAX who is assigning each user with Local IP address that is of No use and simply a RIP-OFF! [update] Seems like they changed and so Wateen is also providing dynamic ip addresses to its users now.
So far i am very happy with their Customer Service and as always Mobilink has given Customer Service a top priority – If you compare Wateen’s CSR with Mobilink’s CSR you will see alot of difference. Wateen’s CSR dont even know what they’re talking about! and just wants to get rid of the customer!
Mobilink’s Customer service is what we can call Quality Customer Service.
I haven’t decided to make a switch to Mobilink Infinity yet as i am also waiting for LinkDotNet. I will decide which to choose after that Mobilink Infinity or LinkDotNet! – Wateen is not even on my list! i will never-ever consider choosing Wateen or Warid for anything! – I hope 
So far, as of yet i have not heard much bad stories of people signing up for Mobilink Infinity and having problems but who-ever joined from Wateen to Mobilink has only said one thing – “Mobilink Infinity WiMAX is better than Wateen WiMAX“.
Mobilink Infinity hasn’t launched completely yet either yet – so people outside of Karachi will have to wait till Mobilink Infinity is there – Currently Mobilink Infinity is only providing its services in Karachi City.

I am not sure what your router model is so i can’t precisely tell you how to do it.
BUT, visit PortForward.com you have to find your router model there and it will show you step by step instructions on how you can setup port forwarding for your Mobilink Router.

Thanks for sharing with us your experience – but one thing you gotta note is that just because you are not having any problems with Mobilink Infinity doesn’t mean nobody is – i believe it varies from City to City people in different cities and sometimes even in different Towns get different experience.
But the same can be applied to those are having troubles, because just because you are having trouble with a certain ISP doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone is

sorry mate, i haven’t found any for them yet, but i’ll post them if i ever do..
i have just taken this connection of mobilink infinity at home, and it is not even 60% of performance that wateen provide, wateen is definitly faster and have decent uploading speed too, whereas mobilink infinity uploading is hell slow even worse than dial up.. (2.4kb/sec).. if u do video chat, u will be badly disappointed by this so called broadband connection.
the downloading speed of mobilink infinity is ok but still not as fast as wateen. i use wateen at office, and mistakenly taken mobilink infinity at home….

Have you tried going for a refund, than maybe you could switch to wateen then? or some other services which you prefer.

I have learnt from a source that mobilink is providing a wireless internet through a device Wimax.I have purchased and i m using it but it is not good for the home users because terms and conditions only helpfull for the corporate costumers its very expencive for the students and i sugest you all not to take any risk for yourself and yours family……

Is there any mobilink franchise / office nearby ? did you try asking them?
If you can’t wait any more – you can join wateen but thats upto you really. Wateen has improved alot since the old days but it still needs work.
If you’re looking for good online gaming you should stay away from WiMAX services either mobilink nor wateen will satisfy these needs.

Huh, You people think that mobilink will provide u true broadband…. Remmember they also have fixed quota on every package.. Why people hate wateen, coz it has traffic limit on each package and mobilink is also offering packages with traffic limit……
. Wat u will do. 15 GB isn’t enough…………….

@Zubair, turns out theres something wrong with the CPE firmware, even if you turn the hardware firewall off and set port forwarding rules, it still keeps on blocking inboud packets, as a last resort I just put the local IP assigned by the router’s DHCP in the DMZ, and now Im able to host all sorts of servers on it, hope it helps others

@Usama: Glad to hear your expereince with Mobilink Infinitys service, I’m not sure why you aren’t able to host your own servers because it should be possible it is with Wateen Telecom, are you sure you are doing the port forwarding correctly – i haven’t done this myself (because i think its waste of time and effort, especially if you are thinking running a counter strike server) – but some friends of mine of were able to accomplish this using Wateen.
Gareena should be working fine too, maybe its because Port Forwarding not done right?
I dont know, they havent configured it properly, some programs don’t work properly like the online gaming client called Garena, I’m having issues running it properly, otherwise the bandwidth and download/upload speed is awesome, also you can’t host games online even if you do portforwarding, if someone can contact me to resolve this issue….

I had a connection of wimax and the system was installed on 15 september 2008 at 5 PM. On the same day the system gone out of order in the night . the help line was contacted they said an emergency upgradation is in process and by 3:00 or 4:00 AM on 16th september you will get the service. I went to my office on 16th September after office hrs i loged on the system on the same day at 3:00 PM worked a little and gone for a little nap. In the evening at about 6:00PM i tried to contact it but it fails and till today. I tried to contact the help Line but fails in three days, Most of the time it was busy if it isnt then the phone was not been picked up. Very poor help line i have never seen in life. I tired to contact the person who has taken the order The guy is nice and he tried to help me but the suport people did called me but no solutions. Still waiting for their rep to come and give life to their dead equipment. I have no connection to their office except the sales guy and the help line. I am unable to connect the help line since last three days. I humbly request the concers If you dont have the capacity why are you playing with people Isnt enought things are in pakistan to torcher the innocent public. You have become one more.

Currently Mobilink wants to write a succes story in Karachi first.
Although the setup is ready, Lahore and Islamabad will be the next to be launched.
Soon it would be available.
